How Kale Realty got started:

In 1951, Sol Kale, grew a fledging uniform company into one of the largest suppliers of Police, Postal and Fire department uniforms in the country- he even supplied the uniforms for a couple famous Chicago movies including Backdraft and the Blue’s Brothers. Sol went on to found his family-run real estate company which continues to thrive today as Kale Realty.

Kale which is short for the old family name, Kaluzna, has long roots in the South Loop neighborhood. Nick’s Great-Grandfather had a tailor shop at 1250 S. Jefferson back in 1921. While, in 2006 the city honored Sol with a street name right on the corner of Roosevelt and Jefferson for 84 years of continued support for the community. De Koven street for history buffs is the location of Mr. O’Leary’s farm and the start of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. (Now the current location for Fire Departments Headquarters)
